Popsicles on the porch, my daughters’ hands in mine, cinnamon added to most everything and the complete acceptance of Christ…these are a few of my favorite things. While growing up in small town Nebraska, my childhood was filled with Girl Scouts, church, and school. College brought me to the big metropolis of Lincoln, where I received an undergrad and Masters in Human Nutrition. This is also where my beliefs in God began to be challenged as I was surrounded by friends that truly sought the Lord. I was offered opportunities to serve with the Navigators Ministry in Lincoln, Japan, Winter Park and Uganda.
Then as a dietitian, I accepted a position at a Christian treatment center in AZ working alongside youth with eating disorders. I was trusted with the patients’ pain as they gave me their life stories. I saw extremely sick teens fight for their lives. I witnessed hopeless parents welcome their healthy daughters and sons back again. I saw miracle after miracle. In AZ, I also met my good look’n husband, Rob. As a bonus, God gave us two girls and a dog, Ruby Jane, Rosa, and Lambeau (Go Packers!). In 2016, we moved to Parker, CO. In the first few days, God led us to Crossroads through a man that helped Rob buy a truck. We’ve been at Crossroads ever since. Over the years, you may have seen me helping with MOPS, VBS, or the youth Sunday services.
I am passionate about helping kids feel known and valued through the love of Christ. One of my favorite verses is 1 Samuel 17:45. David stands before Goliath lacking every worldly defense because he is confident the Lord will fight for him.
